i need to orient object A (master) to object B (slave) - mybe with snap function...
have anyone a idea?

i have found a snap.mel script on highend - but it didnt worked for me...
i get error msg from maya :-(

maybe there is a good other script out there?

Take a look at the last script posted under the MEL scripts thread. It should be what you're looking for.

That's possible. However, i don't have access to OSX or Maya 5. Did you try out the script I pointed to? If it didn't work, what were the errors that came up?

What do you mean by "orient"? Have you used the Point Constraint function in Maya? Maybe that is what you need.

Yeah you can use point, orient and aim constraints as one-time thingumys, just connect it up, then delete the constraint node.
Actually doesn't maya have snap functions anyway? you can snap to grids, points etc (must have pivot points too) by holding down the x, c and v keys when you move.
