I was at work (I can finally say that, yay :) my first day actually, and I encountered a wild problem I have never experienced at home or back at school. I was building a low poly house with editable poly and when I went to render it for the first time, it displayed the mesh with half the faces 'missing' It looked perfect in the viewport but at render time the mesh was quite mangled. I could see the problem in my viewport if I converted it to an editable mesh, one of every pair of triangular faces that makes up a quad... fails to exist. Its edges disappear.
We solved the problem by some roundabout way of turning it into splines and making a surface, but I would like to know what may have caused this so that it doesn't happen again tomorrow.

EPoly can be very slightly unstable, though I've never seen anything like that happen before. The only thing I can think of is that you (or Max) somehow cloned the whole object at SO level and you effectively had two polys sharing the same space. Max (and your Vid card as well) don't know how to render this so you get errors.

Other than that all I can suggest is that there is some latent bugginess left in Epoly. It's always a good idea to periodically convert to an Emesh then back to Epoly, as this seems to reset these strange behaviours Epoly can exhibit from time to time.
