every once in a while i will c someone use a flag that i just can't seem to find in the Mel Command Reference.

for instance:

float $getPos[]=`xform -q -ws -rp $curSel[0]`;

I could easily find descriptions for the -ws and -rp flags, but the -q flag was no where to be seen. Are there certain flags that are used with all commands so it's just given that you should know that flag? I predict this question will get some experts covering there eyes in disapointment:shrug::D. Could someone shed some light?

The -q is the first flag in the list of arguments for xform. Which refers to that attribute is queriable. The properties column tells which flags that can be queried.

The help command will also who all the available flags.

help xform;

Several occasions this is more accurate then the help docs for example:

help spaceLocator;

Shows off more available flags then the help docs.
