The Last Stand, a movie me and my friend (guy in the movie) have been working on for quite some time. Since the end of the summer. It took so long cause we were just 2 people (or one, me, since he just did the sword rotoscoping) and there were around 140 shots of either 3d, swords or both.
Hope you enjoy it and leave some comments!

I know it's yotube and that really sucks. But if you do watch it, please drop a comment I'd like to know what you think.
To get somewhat good quality it was around 100mb (the file I uploaded to youtube) and I doubt anyone would rather dl a 100mb file. So if you have any ideas about better compression, please share.

Constructive attempt ...
Honestly, I dont really know what to say except for I applaud anyone who finishes anything.
As far as your movie goes, art forms are usually for the most part subjective.
Without going into the visual effects or even the CG character(s) used. I was more suprised at the human actor which I assume was you. I'm of the opinion that if you would have placed more of an emphasis on acting out your role, not being so stiff...it could have helped it some.
Anyway, for it's worth. Nice attempt, congrats on completion but way way too long for what is being viewed.
Cheers.
Like Kid mesh, I agree you finished it great!
Buuutttt, I think its too long, there isn't allot of reason behind the action. The acting can use work in the sense that it felt very disconnected from the the CG. Try planning your moves more. The more planning the better the Idea is conveyed. It looks like you guys filmed it in a day. Running around in a circle and doing some movie trademarks. From an animation point of view your keys were super muddy. They weren't dynamic and lacked overall timing. Even if your going for a slow monster type walk or "zombie" shuffle, you should keep them in character, keep them droning along, But with weight! there wasn't any weight at all. Ok ok I hope you still like animation... LoL Now for the "Likes" good sword tracking, I liked some of the camera cuts.
P.s try getting your friend to be the reference as the "badguy". Focus on one part of the short you liked and reshoot it! Keep trying!

The black things were pretty horribly done, sorry to say. You need to work on the animation more.
The rotoscoping was very good though. At the beginning when the dudes started vanishing and appearing everywhere I was like, "kick arse". But then these random black things started hobbleing around and it was all downhill from there.
Try to make your characters any colour other than black. The audience can't see anything they doing, and they look like silouettes or shadows.
It was okay, but I'll be honest with you, I didn't finish it. It was far too long. Try to keep action movies like this cram packed with cool awesomeness, and cut it to 2 or 3 minutes long. Doesn't sound like enough time, I know. But I've seen many short films, as I used to study it, and I would rather watch a really bad 2 minute long film than a so-so 9 minute long film.
Time is precious to your audience, and unless they know you personally most people aren't going to stick around for 9 minutes to watch you swing lightsabers around kill black dudes.
This was a good beginner film, and I'm sure you've learnt a lot from it. So I'll leave it at that.
