Well, the splines are very easy way to do modeling in max, but i don't like that the vertex of them can't join :(, yes i work with snaps and the surface shows me fine but it's ugly work with splines that can't join

when exist 3 splines (that is only an a example the splines work fine only if they create an a rectangle) well exist 3 splines a), b) and c), You can join vertex of spline a) to b) (welding them) and when you move this vertex they will move a) and b) vertexs, but if you wanna join vertex c) to a)b) vertex (weld) they not join, yes will work when you add surface modifiier (if you work with snaps) but really really don't be welded because, if you move a)b) vertex they will move but c) vertex welded don't will move.

(sorry for my english, later maybe i will put a picture of that, maybe that way will be more easy to understand).

Hi, i wanna know about tutorials or something like that, about the scripts like meshtools 2.5, Cspolytools, Erase EdgeLoop, PolyMesh Tools, Spline Pencil and tools like that.

I wanna know how use them, examples and that stuff, maybe somebody could reply a post teaching how use them.

And i try put the meshtools 2.5 in a menu (right mouse) (with shorcurt), but don't appears, then i use in a toolbar up, but will be more cool in a submenu.

Sorry for my english thanks.

(im learning about the meshtools)

wich version of max are you useing?
if you have 5 then you wouldn't have to worry about the cspolytools.
if you are useing 4.5 or before then you have to set up a menu in max.
if you need the menu then email me and i can give you a menu file if you are not familiar with setting it up.

yeah the max tools are pretty dreadful and need to be sorted out. in the meantime I would try Surf-it. it is very good

First if you are using max 5 I would install meshtools 2.5 as opposed to the meshtools 3 that is on the second disk. The reason, because CSpolytools relies on Meshtools 2.5 to work. Cspolytools is not fully represented in the max 5 tool set. I use a tool bar and not quads so I can't help you with the right click menu, but it does work, reread the info.
Now onto the modeling, many max users use polymodeling, and boxmodeling in conjunction with meshtools. A very productive approach IMO. Also spline are very good, do the rhino head tutorial included with max to learn more. I would NOT buy some 3rd party plugin like this Surf it. Seems good, but if you are planning to get a job in the 3D field, you should know how to solve a modeling problem with the base set of tools given to you. I doubt you will find a hi percentage of studios that will be using Surf It. Don't waste time learning something like this, instead do like all other max users, learn to use the tools given to you. The tools are not "dreadful" by a longshot this is a very powerful modeler with the exception of nurbs.
