CGTalk - Help with Demo Reel

Hi! I'm a Maya user.
I want to create something especially for my demo reel. My goal is to get a job in rigging and/or animation.
I want to make some cool stuff. What do I mean by "cool stuff"? Something hard to do. I want to see if I have some skills, if I can find solutions. This way I will see if I'm ready to send my demo reel out in the "wild", if I'm able to find and to keep a job.

1) Make a decision if you want to make an animation reel or a rigging reel? They both are quite different.

2) One u have decided,find out the skills u need to display through your reel. For example if you are targeting for an animation reel - Prepare different animation clips that shows your knowledge of animation principles, body mechanics and acting.

3) Make a search in this animation forum section and you will find this question asked and answered many times.
