View Full Version : [BUG ?] Objects missing when rendering to Picture Viewer WITH IMG
mattjakob 02-14-2008, 10:56 AM hello,
I'm getting mad. literally.
I got a model, it has various Booleans / Hypernurbs / Skin and some materials are quite heavvy to compute... anyway when I test render the scene in the viewport everything is fine but when I render it on the picture viewer (for higher resolution) a part of the model is missing!!!
See the image below, nothing was changed between the two renders (viewport / picture viewer) but on the picture viewer the top strip is missing !!!
* = the missing strip is a copy of the other strips (correctly rendered) but with the skeleton modified so that it is not alligned and it is made of two materials with the orange one applied only to a selection of faces.
ANY HELP?
THANKS

here's a wireframe so you can understand the model (the same strip is copied over and over; the top one has its skeleton and material selection modified).

hi,
since the missing object is a copy,
did you accidentally clicked a red button next to it, in the OM?
just like the "null object7"?
("seen in VP" but "not seen in render")

no.
you can see the settings for that instance on the screenshot.
nothing disabled... note that if you disable something for the rendering, it does not dispaly when rendered in the viewport.
In my case, it renders correctly in the viewport, but doesnt on the picture viewer

Also remember that hypernurbs subdiv. settings are different between viewport and and pictureviewer. Could that be the problem?

mh dont think so. subdiv is slightly higher for render. but isnt it the same for picture viewer and viewport render?

I see you're rendering frame 0 in the viewport. Maybe you're rendering another frame in the picture viewer and visibility is disabled for that frame?

neither... frame 0 to 0 and there's no animation curve elsewhere

Do you get the same error if you render in Editor and set:
Display->Level of Detail->Use render LOD for Editor Render ?

If you can't make the scene public please send it to MAXON techsupport, i'm pretty sure they are able to sort it out. A diagnosis without actualy seeing the patient is pretty hard and very error prone.

Setting "use render LOD..." it still renders correctly in the viewport, now with high quality....
the pictureviewer still is missing the top strip....
@SREK: what's the mail address ??
Since you are from italy it's support (at) maxon (dot) de
Please make sure to include the first 11 digits of your CINEMA 4D serial number as well as exact informations on the version and modules you are using as well as the hardware / OS.
