hello everyone, I want to make a realistic waterfall. I was wondering if you could use maya ocean and then use partical emitters to create the fall. in my mind I think this will turn out rather crappy and was wondering if anyone had better advice to make it look more realistic.

I want to thank everyone for all the help on this site. you are all so awesome!!! :buttrock:

I've seen some very nice particle based waterfalls, but they're the smaller, all white-water types. But, yeah, Realflow is the way if you got the cash. I hesitate to suggest it, but Glu3d could probably handle a thick waterfall better than other Maya-based methods like blobbies--you just may be cursing it by the time your done.

For all it's fluids, particles, blobbies, dynamics etc, you'd think Maya could do a decent pouring liquid sim.
