1st, I am scared. This is my first photoshop :argh: and it is in its early stages of development so please don't make me cry. Heheh...heh...sigh.

Anyway, for whom it may concern, this started out simply as a side view for a 3d model but I had a vision of these fiber optic like wings when I was messing with it in PS so I decided, screw the model, I'll try learning my tablet (finally). This is the result. Hopefully it will look better and better as I work on it more (as opposed to the alternative).

Note - (obviously) I haven't begun to work on the wings more than just sketching them.

Agreed. I like the body very much. Are you gonna add some shadows to make it more in-the-round? What about the wings? Are you maybe gonna add something like some kind of support structure or something like that?

Clondike7 - Thanks for the positive feedback. It has been a very long time since I have done 2d and I'm working on not being as easily discouraged as I have been in the past so blah blah blah, sharing is scary.

Zytrex - Thanks as well for the + feedback. 1st Q - yes (soon as I find some PS tuts). 2nd Q - Not until you said something...

Update -

I'm not sure how far in this direction I'm going to go with this image, but I have a few ideas so...we'll see. The wings at the moment are very sketchy. Uhm...I've been h-flipping the image so as to avoid any weird right brain left brain preferences and also to keep the image fresh when I look at it.

I feel I should point out that I am using a copy of PS elements that came with my scanner. Also, I have no formal training in either photoshop or art so I'm learning PS as I work with this image, so if I post something cheesy its because I'm intoxicated by all the features my humble copy of PSE comes with. :shrug:

Whee. I'm having fun with this. Enough fun that...mumble...bitch...mumble...whine...doesn't bother me.

I think this is a skeleton of a direction I'm going to explore.
