NewTek recently visited with Josh Tsui at Studio Gigante and spoke with him about his work, interests, how to build a great game development team, and plans for the future.

Wow this is much better. Hope those guys at Newtek europe are taking notes. You can tell from the interview that the artist uses Lightwave but every single question was about the artist and not a one about the product. Awesome job and an enjoyable worthwhile read.

Hmm, just about all the digital artists around the art forums knows that Craig Mullins did the concept art for Tao Feng, and Studio Gigante tried to recreate his paintings in 3D for the enviroments.

Yet, not a word about the contribution of Craig Mullins. What is up with that?

Well you said you took a new approach, elaborate on what you mean....

The first couple questions were run of the mill, so i didn't see anything new. But the last few were funny and more unique, so i give it to you there! If that's what you were going for.

It is called Newtek Propaganda

Look at the tutorial posted above ... this was posted on a LW dedicated site a few weeks ago ... now it appears here ... it so happens that the author is referencing LW

I am pretty sure the LW users, since most know about flay, already knew about this

We interviewed Josh about his work and experience....not about Tao Feng....not sure were the confusion is on that....AT no point in the interview did Craig come up...so I'm not sure what you mean by NewTek Propaganda......Maybe it was "The Man"

The interview was about Studio Gigante itself and the production process of Tao Feng. My apologies if it seemed like we forgot about Craig Mullins.

Craig Mullins did indeed do the concept art for the majority of the environments in the game and had a huge impact on how the artists went about designing the look of the levels.

As most people know, Craig is an incredible artist and we here at Studio Gigante really enjoyed collaborating with a person of his stature, everyone should be so lucky.

Thnx for clarifying this Josh.....Maybe we could get an interview with the entire team about the whole production of the game itself......and when do we get your new book? :)

Cool Interview Proton, i like the new approach that you guys are taking, hope you will keep it up and as usual with humor in them.

CIM if you read this thread, i hope you see that NT is making progress in everyway they can to please us users.
