Does anyone know a way of telling Photoshop (CS3 specifically) to apply, say, Adobe 1998 ICC profile to ANY image opened in it? I don't want the profile mismatch pop-up to appear each time. If i'm opening 20 renders and channels it can be incredibly tedious...

Similarly, is there a way to tell Photoshop to add specific metadata to ANY images saved out from it?

Lot to ask i know, but if you don't ask....

Cheers.

Try the Script Events Manager. Search "Script Events Manager" in Adobe Help.

Superb, thats worked a treat.

For ref to anyone else who finds this thread, i setup an action script that converts to profile working space : adobe 1998 without flattening layers. in the script events manager make two conditions that upon opening a document or making a new one it runs the action. you also need to turn off the check boxes for colour profile mismatch in colour settings.
you can also add the copyright in the same action if you need.

Thanks so much Mike, you've saved me much screaming at my monitor.

Your welcome Matt. And I must say that you did a much better job at explaining the process than I could.
