From the Kaydara forum, I believe the answer is:

With the free version you get:

1) No manuals
2) Upgrade to permanent license = $200

Total cost for permanent license = $200/no manuals

With the $100 version you get:

1) Manuals
2) Upgrade to permanent license = $100

Total cost for permanent license = $200/with manuals

yeah, i don't feel dissapointed at all about that. it was a great deal at $100....more power to those who get to try it out for the price of a magazine. if that allows kaydara to keep doing great things then i'm all for it.

My initial reaction was similar to yours when I heard about this, but then I realised that, as I was almost certainly going to be upgrading to the permanent license anyway, I was spending the same amount of money, and getting the manuals...

i shouldn't bitch too much about it. it's still an excellent product and i guess it is a way to generate lots of buzz around their product. if it is true that digit buyers have to pay 200 bucks to get a fully license then i will gladly pay another 100 to get my license. i do want to support this company as i have learned to enjoy this software.

Although do remember that the $100 for 1 year offer is only available until the end of June this year, and the upgrade for $100 is only available between August and December this year....
