(Animated GIF is 883k... sorry for large file size ^^; I'm on 56k too...)

700k AVI version of animation HERE (http://deadpanda.com/pictures/dropscarf-disco.avi), DIVX 5.02 codec needed.

Model is a little over 2000 polygons, and made in Max 5, rigged in Character Studio. Animation is just a motion capture .bip file (I *badly* want more motion capture files! ;_; ).

What do you think? ^_^

haha.. nice work... that animation does the model good. Could you post a wireframe and biped setup? would be cool.. :applause:

Here is the wireframes! I removed the scarf as it's a seperate object (and gets in the way ^_~)

...aaaand the biped (how very interesting  ;) )

You'll see I rigged the scarf to the tail. In hindsight, I should have rigged it to a ponytail, as the tail stretches when the character leans forwards. However, that's the benefit of hindsight, right? ^_~ Still, I think it looks okay and I don't intend to change it - especially as I have no intended use for this character.

Thanks Kaz! I'm really glad you like the character. This was the first thing I've done that I felt worthy of getting jiggy in animation form.

I really like your animation, even better if you can animate it yourself :)

As for the cloth I would just Flex or SimCloth it and let the dynamic do the job automatically.

But still nice.

Thanks Eskay! ^-^

Vertex - I hadn't thought to try a cloth simulation before! I just had a quick try with simcloth, but it wouldn't work for me (kept on ignoring the attachment to biped, and then screwed up my model...). I'll hunt down flex too and see if that helps. Good idea though, as the tail based scarf animation is, well, limited ^-^

If the Cloth is part of the model then SimCloth might not work for U but, you can detach it. Or just use Flex(without detaching).

Put a Mesh Select on top of the stack(above Physique), select the vertices, then put a Flex to the stack, done! Next just adjust the numbers, & try the Simple Cloth option & other stuff.

Vertex, Flex seems to be working better for me! I had a play around and I'm getting some results. I shall play with that more tomorrow when I'm less sleepy :) Thanks a lot for the heads up!

Erilaz - wow, that's some compliment! ^-^ I'd rather people like the character than anything else (I know I have some way to go with my technical skills), so this is of great comfort. Yay! Thanks!
