Hello all,

I am trying to rig a simple mechanical arm, am running into trouble.

The arm is posed perfect, all bones rigid binded to the polys.
When I use the Ik Handle tool the whole model snaps and aligns to the
orientation of the handle. After that, the model just points to and moves
with the ik handle.

I need the model to stay in its pose and solve the way its supposed to.

What am I doing wrong ?

Thanks for any help

Sounds like the orientation of the joints are off in the arm. Is their muliple rotations in the elbow's rotation or joint orient?

Are you creating the IK handle after the polys are bound to the joints?
If so, trying creating the IK handle before binding.

Thanks for the help on this.
There was something wrong with geometry.
I think it was not working because it was grouped, also I had done a freeze transforms on it. Dont really know what the problem was, never drilled down ~1hr or so....
Just made another mech arm and it worked.

Made something more complex (Below).
No I have to figure how to contstrain certain clusters.
Thanks!
