As a tutorial on how you can prevent 5 point polygons messing up your mesh, this is an excellent tutorial/book. It cost me some headaches in the past.....

Thanks guys for the heads up.

There are some sections in those tuts that are really helpful..like the knee, eye and hand details.

And this is really well written, anybody could use this to do some projects in human modelling. It does'nt matter what software you use.

Of course, the 2nd tut her right breast shouldn't defy gravity, but it's all good.

Yeah, he uses Lightwave, but he's told me that he tries to design the tutorials to be used in any program. Having had the author as a professor and the first edition book as material, I'd say it's helpful at times, but sometimes downright confusing to me. It's also not for a beginner, or if you want to learn a specific program. I'll let Ratner know what you guys think of his book, too. ;)

It's by the author of that book. Modelling the man instead. Looks like a good book.

For IE: right click on the tutorial links...add to favorites...check "make available offline"...customize this to "3" links deep.....Now you can access them offline in your favorites list...

Then there are offcourse ext.utilities, which I don't use...

Umm... I hate to sound like a nitpicking smartarse or self apointed 3D Guru... but doesn't the face topology have a rather poor edge loop around the mouth? (By "rather poor" I mean "none at all"). Making that models face crease properly for a shout or smile would be quite difficult...

The tutorial looks great overall, but that face geometry is bothering me. I feel better now I've got that off my chest :)

Terry

Yeah, I noticed some poor edge loops/topology. Seems to be lots of good info. in the books, though.

Now, if Bay Raitt or Martin Krol did a book.

Agree, weird edgeloop, but some references are quite good. Would have been cool to see it applied to a a man, from a muscular point of view though.
