Hi :)...
i'm trying to model a sword atm and need a bit of help...
i've been working with polys in max all the time now, but when i started the sword i had some problems and decided to try a different method using splines for the first time (after reading one or two tutorials)...
here is the result of the blade... its still a very early stage..
now my question is whether to continue using splines on the blade, or to do the whole thing in polys instead... the problem with splines being that i have a really dense model (slow in viewport), and when modeling with polys i could probably make the mesh less dense and quicker to rrender...
here are 3 pictures:

Spline Cage:

Dense Mesh:

as i'm using splines for the 1st time, i probably haven't done it right to achieve a light model, so should i do the thing again with splines or polys??
thx :) phoenix
