i feel pretty dumb for asking this question. I've been using Maya for about 3 years not, so I'm not new. I'm just now wanting to use Set Driven Key for my character rigs, but I can't get them to work.

All of the Tutorials I've found, never seem to do the trick for.

Can anyone help me with this. I just need the basics, nothing special.

I'd appreciate any help.

i don't really know what to tell you about SDK. Theres no smoke and mirrors. Its pretty straightforward. I'm not trying to just brush you off but, the documentation should answer all of your basic questions.

Well.. You load a driver (lets say a box that will be moved in transform x) and the driven will be driven when you move the box in tranform x (it's cube that will rotate in rotation Y).

In your case I think you should check out Lesson 6 Foot rig on digital tutoris Neex project..

I think this might help you also. Give it a try, click on set-driven's on left.
