Hey peoples trying a new technique which i think is really working for me. I decided to post this beacuse I haven't posted anything for a long time (naughty naughty me) but a friend came round the otherday and he draws a lot of manga art traditionally and wanted to have a go using a wacom and photoshop instead - well what can i say but by the end of the afternoon i wanted to rip the pen out of his hands and do some stuff of my own.. hehe.. I was inspired... its nice when you can get someone to inspire you :bounce:

anyway this piece still has a long way to go and i'm just doing it for a study... so its improving all the time... anyway comments and feeback are most welcome

This shows some strong potential, with good rendering of highlights and shadows for musculature and form.

Your biggest problem is one of more careful observation, both of your subject, and of your efforts on canvas. Little details, such as the fact that the left eye looks crossed, because it is not focused at the same point off the horizon. The dark shadow on the right side of her mouth (LH side as viewed), which pulls the mouth shape downward, emphasized by the heavily outlined lips (which have a somewhat overidealized shape). The uneven brow line, with the left browbone misplaced. The unfinished and rough ear. The large polka dot light speculars on her eyes..Small enough details, but still of significance in the overall impression of the piece.

You also may want to consider tempering your highlights, in that you have them inconsistenly rendered, with a spot on the shoulder, the neck muscle, the right side of her chin (LH side of canvas) and the end of her nose too bright, and showing different light source directions.
