No textures on the ship yet. I am still concentrating on composition and color usage. Any C&C would be greatly appreciated!

hey
while the bubbles look really cool, and i'm trying to figure out how you did those wavy red lines, i'm thinking that the ship is the main focus of the piece, and i cant really see much of it at this point... is there another angle that you could take so that we can make out the shape of the ship?
overall, i like it

very cool so far, I'd like to see this animated, those volumetric effects looks awesome, can't really see anything off about this image, apart from the ship shader, but as you said that aint done yet

Hey! you never answered David's question... I was curious!
By the way, neat render!

I like your environment, but as said before it's hard to comment on the ship itself...but it looks a little out of the style from the rest of the pic.....
And yes I would also like to know how you did those red lines, they look so cool
Keep it up

Sorry. Do you mean the one about another angle? Or was it about the red lines...cause I don't see a question there (I guess it's implied huh;).
I am going to do another render either tonight or tomorrow. The ship is getting more detailed so it will be a greater focus. I am also going to eliminate about half the bubbles; I think they detract from the scene by making it too busy.
And the Red lines is a 3d noise in the transparency channel of a texture and then put on a light. Try it out. It takes some tweaking to get just the right light though....and beware of the render time!
EDIT: transparency channel, not color channel. Doh!
