Hi there,

I'm new to this forum, and also new to Motionbuilder, and I don't manage to understand what Motionbuilder is or is not.
I'm working on a project about virtual reality in theatre. We'd like to capture the movements, attitude, acts of comedians and manipulate in real time 3d avatar in virtual world. At the beginning we thought of tools like virtools, panda3d, ... as it's tools dedicated to virtual reality.
Later, we found that motionbuilder can be an answer to our project. But it seems that the render engine is not really configurable. Is there a "direct" rendering engine (like dv or hd direct output in finat cut pro) in Motionbuilder that allows render (with shaders, light, ...) in a separate window, card ?
Thanks for your help.

Well, motionbuilder could be a virtual reality tool, but it's not created to be one.

Rendering is limited, but MB has CGFx shaders implemented, so you'd need shader programmer help to have this running. But how good effects can be achieved I don't know.

going against the laws of the matrix is forbidden. I would consult the oracle on this one.
