Title: Dave Grohl
Name: David Kent
Country: United Kingdom
Software: Maya, Photoshop, ZBrush

This is a model of one of my favourite and most inspirational rock stars Dave Grohl from the foofighters. I got the idea to model him when I was reading the book Dave Grohl Foofighters Nirvana & other misadventures. I wanted to test myself to see how close I could match the front cover of the book.

i think you did a great job .. but i think the way that you present him didn't give the photo the quality it desevres ... :)

i think the model would have gone fine, visually its fine, but there are some major issues, first there is no balanced dof, his right ear is not visible at all, too blurred it seems like a patch, you went for the grainy look, that is not much of a problem ,the sepia/ black-white tones are good too, but but the light is improper to see the detail of your work, as I said visually its a nice portrait, technically it still needs heavy work. 3 stars

 Nice work, Im a big fan of his also, and could recognize him right away.

One small critique though, I think his eyes are in this picture are very important, he is watching directly at the camera, at the observer, in you render I reckon he is slighty watching towards the right anyways I think thats a small detail that can change the overall image pretty much.

Cheers

I agree with the comments made so far. I would also say I would have a look at his nostril, it looks a bit strange bit too dark.

Cheers for all your comments so far. I would like to re-look at a few things with this image such as the lighting as suggested. I think one day I will try to redo it, definatley light up the right side of his face. keep the comments coming it helps alot to get different critques.
