CGTalk - display filename in the viewport

Hi, I am an animator, working on a short film at animation mentor and one thing that I would find really usefull to keep track of my plablasts is to have the name of the current file displayed on the viewport.

This way, each playblast would have the name of the file and ideally the date burt into the video.

How could I go about that?

Check into the headsUpDisplay MEL command, it can do this for you.

The 'file' command combined with a query flag can give you information about the scene, including the name.
