vool concept, it's not often that someone models a dog. :buttrock:
crit:
the ears are wrong, they should be facing outward. and the eyes should be spread farther apart.

ok i fixed the eyes and the eyes i belive tell me what you think
the snout is too square, and you should make the eyes bug out a little, they look like holes instead of protrusions. also, it looks like you may have smoothed it, don't do that, show the base mesh (and or wire), especially for game models.

The eyes are exactly frontal now, the eye of a dog is very frontal but not completely. They should be rotated a little around y (Maya) or z(max) axis.

Well, its hard to know whether you are trying for a cartoony style or a realistic style, I don't believe you've made it very clear.
Obviously this will determine whether people think you are heading in the right direction. I would say if it is meant to be cartoony, it is too realistic - if it is meant to be realistic, than it is too cartoony. Hope that makes sense. :hmm:
In any case, reference material reference material reference material. The more you have the better it will be. Even if you want to make it cartoony, if you have ref material it will look all the better.

also noticed one more thing which is the pit you are using as reference has a very deep and wide chest, whereas it is not very pronounced on your model
I love these dogs so much, hope you don't think I'm being to picky!
here's a picture of my boy, for more refrence ;)
