I have this cool new elephant and rig, so I thought I would do something a little bit different with him. I only spent a few hours on him - so please forgive the 'boo boos':

He he reminds me of an excited puppy :D I've always wanted to model an elephant. I will get around to it one day. I liked the follow through on the feet as he brought them forward, I thought that was very elepant like

Hey Brad,

Thanks! He he... yeah, that's it exactly: a puppy. I recall seeing George of the Jungle and they had this elephant that plays with a ball in the Jungle - I couldn't resist!

Dude , Seriously ........ nice timing , I mean both animation and chronologicaly .

I have been looking for a reference peice to help me with my up and coming animation , I am tackling my first quadruped walk and this is great reference for the beast I will be animating .

Check the Chemical Joe WIP on the wip pages at the moment .

Love the animation by the way , I thought I was watching a documentary at first , but then the elephant spotted the guy with the ball ; )

Ben : )

needs more weight. staging could be better. I like the "butt-wiggle". you could have forshadowed a litle bit of the playfulness in his walk as well...it feels odd that the character just suddenly goes from complacent walk to hyper puppy in a flash...

Hey Ben, thanks! <enter-shameless-plug-mode> You may want to check out my 3D Apprenticeship Training Series... it walks you through the entire process of creating the model, mapping and then animating him. <exit-said-mode>

Hi Bentllama! Right on the money! He could use weight and definitely could use some more anticipation on the playfulness! But there is a reason I didn't include them. When I finished the walk cycle for the training series I decided to create this addition and use it as a study in total contrast in movement. Bang - from having the weight of an elephant to an energy level of that of a pup. The odd feeling that you experience is sort of the aim of the exercise. There are still a bunch of things I would like to tweak on him, but lots of fun paying work is getting in the way. As for the staging, yes it could use work - but I just canabalized the clip I use in the series and just animated straight ahead for a couple hours. Anyway, good call on the analysis!

Ha ha ha ha ha :applause:

Pretty cool stuff!!!

And the first part where he's walking "normally" looks very realistic.

Good work.

Best regards.
