My first opinion was that it looked too dry and sterile (untouched by nature) for outside architecture. I really like the grass and weeds growing off the tower though and if you are going in that direction, you should put some rust, grime, corrosion, cracks, ect. to give it a more dramatic feel. I can see that you have done that to an extent, but I think you can afford to push it a lot further. "But thats just my opinion, I could be wrong."

i agree with the previous post, and also one more thing... the bridge heading off to the left feels too much like basic geometry, rounding the edges a bit, possibly adding a crack or two so it doesnt seem perfect would do a lot to address this issue. also, the bridge should be going somewhere, i would suggest making a larger structure and moving the camera so that one could see the other end. the only other major thing i see is visually the image appears as though it is floating which doesnt make sense with the structure having grass on it. add an island or some kind of horizon in the background to attach it to the ground. those are just my opinions, hopefully some of them you will find helpful.

Very cool design. The texture on the cement, or whatever that is, is very realistic. Good job with the lighting and the background too. Are you going to add more? Perhaps the catwalk is leading somewhere. Or maybe that ladder is? Hey! You know what would be cool? Another shot, pulled way back, exposing a huge system of hundreds of interconnecting compartments, thousands of feet in the air! :)

Hey not bad, I do agree it's a fairly dead scene. Some birds in the sky might help...

There's something about the lighting that doesn't look right to me. The way the shadows are angled and extended would suggest the sun is closer to the horizon than the sky image suggests... seems like a little lighting contradiction there, but maybe it's just me. It's especially noticable at the top of the ladder though.... something to look into maybe.

It's a bit of a departure for you, Ethan. Nice start. Can't wait to see what you do with this. -- dano

the quality is actually very good, I just wish the scene had a bit more substance... (grass looks awesome, awesome lighting...)
Cheers, 300th post!

Damn it's really nice, i like the "road goint to who-knows-where" subject :o)
Maybe put an end to both the roads so the scene doesn't look so empty or do higher towers in the background but use the DOF to keep the focus on this tower, i think that would be cool

And i think that by now you got enough suggestion to choose from and work on it again :o)

Oh, and you know what? That corrosion/noise made by rain on buildings, that would add alot of realism on those texture
I'm sorry i can't find a pic to show you what i mean, but rain usually make a kind of corrosion on buildings that make it look like if something is goind gown, like dark dirt melting down on the surface
Damn my bad english, i'ma study it someday when Max stops calling for me :o)
