nice first attempt but maybe you should try to make your image more self-explanatory... What will happen when someone sees it without your text explaining what happens? :)

Maybe a good idea for this would be to have both characters interacting in the scene...Like the fairy having one arm wrapped around one of the spider's legs? like leaning onto it maybe? That way anyone would know that the spider is not a threat to the fairy....
