View Full Version : Ladybug WIP
Not shooting for complete realism here, just believability. Early render, using MAX5. Look ok so far guys?
edit: I haven't done any texture work yet either btw. Just working on the model itself right now.

looking very nice so far, with a nice texture & scene i bet you can achieve photo real with what you have so far;)

The shield seem a bit to thin..just like a onesided plane. This results in a very sharp line between the shield and the head as well as between the shield parts them selves.
Try extuding the wings just a tiny tiny bit and then smoothing them so it looks like they have a bit of hardness to them.
If you won´t get as close to it as the render you posted here this might not matter.
Otherwise with a bit of texture i think this could be quite realistic looking. A nice bump and color texture might even clear up the problem with the shield.
Great model.

Here's a newer shot where I've tweaked things a bit more and added some grass.
