My brother just emailed me this info:

"Sammy Studios - LACC NCR. Sammy Studios will hold a press conference to unveil a video game inspired by one of the greatest samurai movies of all times, Akira Kurosawa's "Seven Samurai." In tribute to the classic film, creation of the "Seven Samurai" video game has involved renowned artists, including characters by world famous artist Moebius (whose credits include design work for films such as "Alien", "Tron" and the "Fifth Element");
music from composer Ryuichi Sakamoto (most famous for his Academy Award-winning score for "The Last Emperor"; and with the full involvement of the Kurosawa estate, including Akira's own son Hisao Kurosawa. Sammy Studios has arranged to have Moebius and Hisao Kurosawa, along with lead designers and developers from the game, on hand to unveil the "Seven Samurai" game. Attendees at the E3 press conference will have among the first people to see this tribute to Akira's vision recreated as a video game. "

I hope this ends up okay. I get all angsty about great movies being turned into bad games.

I hope they do not screw it up...cause it is gonna be hard to compare the game to the awesome cinematic splendor that is Kurosawa.

Its a game, how can it live up to the original? And it doesn't have to, coz how many gamers who buy the product know or care who Akira Kurosawa is?

Might not be even as good as "The Magnificent Seven" movie & TV series, or those HK versions...

Just hope that they pay royalty this time unlike "Fistful of Dollars"...
