well this is a project I wanted to do for a long time.. I think it came out pretty ok but I would like some opinions:)!

so there is a little story: the soldier spots the convoy driving away from a town they just destroyd. He is like: damn man what are we still doing here. I made some text to go with it:

And when he looked uppon the sight of destruction, he realised there was no reason anymore. Going home, away from this all, his biggest wish.

I'm currently working on the animation of this matte, trying to animate the smoke and helicopters. But its hard! hehe

Look for a US poster company that sells to the US military, get them to sell it to there troops and make some money out of this. You could do several different versions with unit logos. These will sell like hotcakes to the US military.

PS if able to move the soldier to the right a little so he is on a third, (rule of thirds, google) this will balance the image to a more pleasing comp

Hmmm not sure i agree with that...why would a soldier want to remember a place where 'Going home, away from this all, his biggest wish'?

It's a great image though, really nice lighting and the outline of the soldier is great

yea you really think the army would buy this? I think they dont need such a depressing image right? altough it does has beautiful landscapes ofcourse;)

I have spent a long time working with the US military and they absolutely love this type of imagery, posters, cups t-shirts. Trust me it will sell. I have a cup I bought 14 years ago with similar bold graphic design on it.

TomasWarren : I think you got it all wrong... he soldier wants to go home and forget all the troubles of war. hence the title, Homesick. :D

I love the image! I pretty sure if my grand pop was still alive, this would have been printed and hanged somewhere in the house... good job!

You misunderstand eyecon, i was replying to RHM's post about selling the artwork as a poster, not to the original post from akajork :)
