Hi, all!

I have trained a little in low-poly modeling and texturing with this great modelsheet of robot

Took it from here http://www.bigbadrobots.com/gallery/index.php/Character%20Concepts

This is my model

And here is diffuse texture. Texturing is not my strong side.

Render of posed robot

While I was working with it I made up a little story with this robot:

I think you wil think up the end of story :)
I just want to share this work with you. I`ll be glad to hear any critique/advise.

great texturing, as well as the form of the model. one thing i dont like is the render, but textures and model look great

The story and pose really sells it.

Thanks for comments.
2 Piotrek255 You are right about render. It`s far from perfect. But the story and render is secondary, so I did it quickly just to tell the idea.

I'm not a render expert, but I think the renders actually focus attention on the character. You have this robot as the focus with all these details through the texturing, and the flatness of the surrounding area enhances all that detailing. So in my opinion I think it works ... except for maybe the colours.

Convert the image to grayscale and I don't think there'd be very much difference in the gray values. Giving the image a wider spectrum of values usually helps it pop more I find. Ooh, maybe saturate the red in the armor a little more just to have a nice range of saturated hues as well.

But yeah, well designed character, efficiently modeled for the most part, and well textured.
