View Full Version : Easy way to select objects with primary vis off

Hey all!

I was wondering if anyone knew of a simple way to select all the objects that have primary visibilty turned off. I know that I could create a loop to go through all the objects in my scene and get it that way, but I was hoping that there might be an easy way to get that list without have to interate through thousands of objects in my scene.. kinda like you can use:

select `ls -tr -iv`;

to quickly get a selection of the hidden objects in your scene.

Anyone have any ideas? I def appreciate any help!

Hi.

It depends what you mean with Objects.

You can do it like you said this way, if you know your objecttypes:

select `ls -et transform -iv`;
select -add `ls -et mesh -iv`;


If you don't know your Objecttypes you have to iterate through all Objects.

Unfortunetly that "ls -iv" command is just to select object that have their visibility turned off, by being hidden for example.

What I am looking for is a quick way to select transform nodes with the "Primary Visibilty" render stat turned off, and not just regular visibility.
