View Full Version : Symmetry and Mirror Help
Mentat7 04-29-2003, 01:32 AM Ok I am not sure what I am looking for on this one. Not sure of the command name or what, consequently I am turning up squat in the book. I am sure it is probably a simple little command..... I selected a model....deleted one side of it and placed it in a Symmetry object. Now that I am done modeling it I want to duplicate the half model and weld the two parts together. What are the commands to do this?? Thanks in advance.

OK OK...looks like I found my answer.... STRUCTURE>SYMMETRY on the half model. Select both halves, choose CONNECT, then OPTIMISE the points/polys so everything is nice and tidy. Whew.....

Even easier: If you have your half-model in a Symmetry object, just click Functions - Current State to Object. Delete the original and symmetry objects, then Structure - Optimize to clean it up.

You're right! I'd forgotten that you could do a "make editable" on a symmetry object; I hadn't realized it would eliminate the need to optimize.
Thanks...
Its amazing how often people overlook the make editable button, that includes me.
There isnt a more powerful button in C4D if you ask me.
