WW2 - Panzer38t (http://www.digitaltools.netfirms.com/index.htm)

So ..... this is a tank , Panzer38t - something that I made a month

This is my firs finished (95%;)) model and I want to make it look real

So .... help , I need somebody, help just enybody, help I need someone, heeeelllp :scream:

if your talking about a uv map form (planar, cyln, box, etc.) as is in max i would say dont use that, instead map the polys using the unwrap uv modifier instead... you could possibly get away with procedural textures though unless you are very experienced with them or have a good understanding i would suggest sticking with bitmaps... im no expert on this so i may very well be wrong and anyone else can feel free to correct me:)

Yes , but I think that it will be harder for me to do it the way you say .... I have no experience with texturing ...... so I think UV is something that will be easier for a beginner like me

Well you got to get your feet wet sometime. Nows as good a time as any. Just do alittle practice with uv unwrap. once you get the hang of it, it gets easier.

Nice model by the way.

Yes, I thing you are right ....... a little bit of practice with UV-map is the best solution ......

..... o , and I want to ask . waht do you thing about the environment ...... I'm thinking of making the scene representing the winter of 1939 in Poland (the tank was used in the Poland campaign) ........ something like a destroied wall and some houses , along with mud and dirty snow  ? ?

You're Model is amazing!!!

My advice is the invest in buying 'Digital Texturing & Painting' from New Riders. It is a in depth book that will cover all the issues you are currently dealing with.

This is how I tought myself about Texturing and Painting. Still learning actually but its a worth while investment. Or make friends with someone that has knowledge and time to teach you. Unfortunately buying the book is the easiest option. Then you can bounce off someone and both learn from each other.

Not wasting either of your time.

GOOD LUCK :bounce:
