Mr Gooch - Nice job so far

From my point of view there are few things that could be tweaked.

FR 8 - LF leg should take on more weight with the waist tilted to the that side. Squash this guy.

FR 16 - This is the most important key going foward. Considering the girth of this character a lot more weight needs to demonstrated on this key. There is so much you could do here too. For one start with squashing him down...much more than on FR 8. You can add some follow through on his neck by tucking his head down into his body as well. **Build up that inertia for that powerful kick. This guy is just massive man.

If you really want the twist (torque) at frame FR 26, I would pull his RT elbow up and over more at FR 22. Although, none of that will matter if the energy level that was built up from FR 16 on is not beliveable. At this stage there isnt enough energy or reason for the torque.

FR 32 - Another powerful key. At the moment there isnt a true sense of weight as the character just seems very light. Although, I see that your going for style points with the landing (RT Leg remaining in the air). If you want to do that then go for it. We are trying to have some fun right? :)

My suggestion would be to show some overlapp and follow through with his arms as it would make it appear more dynamic and alive. Espesically that RT arm. Have it sway back past the RT leg when he lands at FR 33 and overlapp those fingers a bit too.

All and all you have a great base to work with and for the most part it looks beliveable. Timing seems ok too. Just work on conveying weight and add some overlapp and follow through to this. Should make a nice piece to your reel!

Great job! Keep it following

thanks kid-mesh for the crit :)
I added a little more bend in the spine(squash) before the kick, i think it looks better now. Also tweaked the rt arm a little farther back and added some more head movement. Oh, and I threw in a lil piece of ground to help see it a little more clearly.

here is another update:

Nice update

The anticipation that you added for the initial kick is nice. At FR 37 I would just have him bent down (squashed) just a tad more. That would really emphasis more of the weight that came down on the landing.

After this pass if your up to it you should look into the overlapping and follow though I talked about to even push it further.

It's starting to look really good now

hmmm... well it looks pretty good. there are some weird pops though. almost like a few of your curves are still stepped. your spacing needs a little work. like the arm when he's in the air. it just jumps forward over one frame. the body seems to be doing the same thing... sort that out and add a little more weight to the whole thing and i think you'll be doing good.

but this is a great start for sure.
