View Full Version : Vehicle: BMW Z3
BiaZeD 04-28-2003, 10:55 PM Hello verybody, I'm new to this forum so I thought it would be a good idea to introduce myself with a picture :)
I made this car almost 8 months ago. Perhaps I'll try to composit it with a real background, I don't know yet as I've never tried it :)
C&C are welcome :)

Very realistic model !:buttrock: Think ive seen this posted before(not here)....anyways I think I could be a good challenge bringing it into a "real life" enviroment.........Could you maybe post some alternate angels and maybe wireframe ?????:bounce:
Keep up a VERy good work ;)

Nice, this picture of yours turned out incredible. You really worked out all the bugs and etc. in it. Awsome lighting and the rims are sooooo nice looking :buttrock:

made with 3dsmax 4.2 , rendered with Vray .
I ve allready posted it on 3dtotal forum and a that time it was rendered with final render.Since I m pretty new with vray, I rerendered this old car with it to test it and as I tweaked it, I thought it would be nice to try to enhance the realism :)
I just made this render today (see, I m VERY new to Vray ;) ), I'll try to make some more as time goes.
Soljarag> the material of the car has been heavily tweaked with photoshop so it turns out a little bit different from the original render. Basically, there s an attenuation map in the diffuse slot (very dark color in the first slot and the same color but lighter in the second slot), and a tweaked fresnel attenuation in the reflexion slot. The specular level is a cellular map that I render separately and composit in photoshop.

here is a front render for nek11man :)
Randuin, the car is poly modelled (extrude edge)
I started the rim with spline modeling, and converted it in poly object to add the detail .
I ve taken some photos so I can try to composit the car with real background.
cheers

WOW it looks very very nice. For some reason i love looking at models which have no texture on them like the one you have with the 2 z3's just all white. It's looks so nice
Keep it up

looks very good !! what modeling style did you use ? did you start with a plane and extrude the points or whole thing is a box and you shaped it into the car ? also how long have you been using Max for ?

i believe he said it was done with extrude edges :)

:) It`s nicely done :) Compozition is good, but IMHO, leftside of the car (actually right side for the picture) shoud be a little bit darker.
And lights doesn`t look good. Everytning else looks ok.

ATM I m working on maya
I worked on max for the 1st year because I had to : I m studying 3D in a cinema school that also make CGI classes and we learnt 3d with 3dsmax the 1st year :)
2cd year is dedicated to maya bit I m still working on max from time to time in order to not forget how it works ;)
and for the tutorial of karabo, I made my Z3 before he made his fiat 500 but yes it s the same way :)
