CGTalk - Quadro 4 980XGL ?

Well, my FireGL 8800 died on me, and won't do anything in 3d without weird static-like bars and rainbow colored scenery :P

So, would a Quadro 4 980XGL be a good investment? Or is there something else that would be better?

What do you mean by "weird static-like bars and rainbow colored scenery" ? Could you post a screenshot of this? I have an older 32mb radeon and im getting some strange things like that, i was wondering if it is my monitor, video card or what.

Can't any more, using an old GeForce 2 MX atm, till I get a new card.
But it gave me weird lines and checkerboard patterns on my screen, and really unbearable rainbow colored grain on all my 3d apps.

I'm currently running a pny quadro 900xgl in my comp and it works...a whole lot better than a fire gl 8800...but I use 3d studio max mostly for 3d apps...so I don't know if this reply is any help....and if ur looking for a good price on a card check out mwave.com....that's where I bought mine
