View Full Version : Good Tutorials (landscape preff.) for someone giving up quick
ChevyVanDude 01-30-2008, 06:32 PM Hi all
I was just wondering:
What video/Tutorial is recommended if someone gives up reasonably quick?
For example if you can't get your lines/contours or dimentions good (for yourself).
Don't care if I need to pay for or not.

I don't think any specific tutorial will miraculously make you more patient/passionate/hard working. It may be that you haven't come across any that is very intuitive and easy. Maybe you should list some of the tutorials you've tried and given up on, and then we can assess where the problem might be. If even the easiest tutorials are giving you a hard time, then that's a different issue.

it may be that you are being too ambitious
motivation will vanish if you constantly fail to meet your own expectations...and artist needs to win every now and then
work up gradually.....do loads and loads of concept sketches keep it simple and loose, this will enable you to familiarise yourself with the subject matter
this has the added benefit of when it does go wrong, you have lost very little investment of time

There’s no such thing as being too ambitious, too motivated (IMO). Expectations may be too unrealistic and in need of adjustment. Low ambition/motivation coupled with unrealistic expectations = impatience and eventual interest loss.

Your persistence must match your ambition. The talent comes later.
