View Full Version : Normals Turned white
xplct3d 01-29-2008, 08:35 AM When I went to skin my model...Anyone have any ideas? It happened when I used the mirror mode. Well, as long as I can still animate and render my character correctly, I guess it doesn't matter, right???

What software are you in? anything that doesn't look right matters especialy in characters. Try resetXform if you are in Max.

Yup, I am in Max and tried your suggestion and they are still white. Strange, it happened right before I finished skinning. I was also in mirror mode at the time if that's of any help. I also tried to delete and reapply the skin, reconvert to an editable poly and still nothing works.
On the other hand, my character seems to be skinned well and also moves well with the bones. Not to mention does render out to what she is supposed to look like. A teacher told me that I'd only be affected if they were white to begin with and had "already started" skinning...
