Hey sorry in advance if this is in the wrong section ^.^ i was wondering what would be the best clay to use to model little sculptures. Around the height of a dvd case. (cant seem to find a ruler or tape measure! lol) Mainly I want the clay to be managable so that it doesnt fall apart or loose its shape once ive played with it.

Im no expert on modeling with my hands but I feel im better at modeling with clay then drawing or any other way of expressing my creativity. If anyone could give me some good advice on what clay to get and where I might find some helpful tips on modeling with my hands I would very much appreciate it.

Thanks again

EDIT: An Artists work that caught my eye was that of Robert E barnes, who does the clay sculpting for Lucas Arts. (im sure I didnt need to mention that bit for some of you :P) The clay used in the below image is what im after, any help would be appreciated.
