View Full Version : Need Suggestion, which one looks better for you?
anibalin 01-28-2008, 12:10 AM I made this flyer for a friend of mine.
The one in the left is more eye appealing, for me, but, the one at the right is the one following the divine proportions, which is ok, but I believe the one at the left its a bit better.
Not sure which one to keep.

The ring looks more impressive in the second one, but the logo looks too far away with the ring higher.
The first one looks more balanced, but also a bit more bland. While the Golden Mean is a good guideline, you also have to consider the elements contained therein. The text is not dynamic enough to support the main focus, the ring, with the Golden Mean. It needs a bit more "punch," which raising the ring does. Even though the size has not changed, it looks "bigger," somehow, in the second version. To me, anyway...

Hey, finally something to reply to which I know about :)...
But seriously - the second one is a better layout but like Cybr said, I would bring the ring and the logo together. you have some typographic imaginary lines you can adjust your layout to. I wouldn't use a grid like for paintings in this case.
So bring the ring down so the shade is behind the logo and adjust it to the levels (red lines) - at least this is what I would try...
I think it looks more clean and smooth then - but you have to try this and see for yourself.

anyway a nice layout!
