Ok, there is this game called Anarcy-online, a old game with dx7 graphics.
Recently the game company announced that they will uppgrade to a dx9 graphic engine.
So i just kinda wanted to make a before/after still. just to see how fancy a low-poly weapon could get, with a new graphics engine.
The game devs, has also told that items/weapons are not getting a new texture/mesh anytime soon.. reason beeing that its too time consuming, thats why i wanted to make this to a little learning project for myself.
I have managed to re-create the ingame model of the weapon:

Yeah, i know its a crude model.. but so is the ingame model too.. theink they have about the same poly count.
I have the texture that this weapon use ingame, extracted from the game:

So i tried to use "unwrap-uvw" just to align the texture..but ended up a little streched etc.
So, the big question...
How do i make this model look good?
I have tried just edit the texture, without much luck (not so artistic, hehe).
Tried to just add some shiny metal look, to the texture..didnt really change much.
bump-maps didnt really work out either.
Id like some tips on how to make this gun look good with the texture i posted here.
And how i should go about making a new texture for this model, since adding the deafult texture was a pain in the *ss
(might be better for getting more effects etc).
