Yeah, I agree. It does kinda look like it's mapped (probably cause the shadows). But anyway, I love the head... Keep goin. I want more :D

It's a good start. Keep giong, I want to see more :) One thing: maybe make the waist/abdomen a little thickre. It looks too thin on the sketch...

About the shadow: the background is maped on the plain so thats whay it looks so :)...
About abdomen : yeas I agree, its too thin. I was thinking about not abdomen at all, maybe only backbone (you know its zombi :)),
and I havnt decide right now, so this is average sketch :D
Really promising. The details are impressing, but shouldn't you model the entire body in a more neutral pose ?

For referance{re:questions about the shoulder} you should check out Burne Hogarth, 'Dynamic Anatomy' is a wicked book, Ive used it countless times for reference.
PS I really like the model, good stuff

Shoulder has three main sections. An anterior (front) section, lateral (side) section, and posterior (back) section.

Only personal for me [whose anty spec], but you might try less spec or a map to enhances areas, I like to us a GI render and bring to Photoshop , grayscale then inverse and use as a spec map , also there's some stretching ,but you defiantly have a nice style. I,d like to more of your work post some more.

DAN : thanx for great tip, its great ifea with inverting picture and using for specularity....
However this picture is created in ZBrush and ZBRush doesnt have specularity maping right now, I could try to "draw" diferent materials on it instead....
Fragenstain : wow, this is great site, thanx a lot.........
