View Full Version : Rendering a texture with minimum change

Another odd question ;)

I want to take a texture map (jpg, tif etc.), apply it to an object at 100% size, in the luminosity channel (that being the only active channel), flat mapped - render it head-on ('top view' if you like) and have the render match the quality and detail of the original texture map as closely as possible...

What would be my best material sampling and render anti-alias settings to do this:

Material sampling: None? MIP (at S=-100%)? SAT(at S=-100%)?

AA = Best at Still Image? Blend? Sinc?

Thanks,

Mike Abbott

don't use mip or sat. either none or square would probably be your best bet. use frontal projection, and make sure the output is the same size as the original. tyr to avoid using jpegs as the compression totally messes up the color of the image, and each app seems to view it slightly differently.
