View Full Version : Rendering "marbles" in maya software
Hello,
A friend of mine has a school project to complete. He needs to texture some marbles.
But he's only allowed to render in maya software.
Can anyone suggest how he can shade a sphere realistically to look like a marble?
See attachment
Thanks

hm...using really high refraction values on his material might do the trick....and normal reflection values for glass ofcourse
Edit: oh...and he must know that glasses are defined by their surroundings (since they have no colour)...have him put a couple of white planes off camera so they reflect on the marbles surfaces... hope that works :)
stage,
Thanks for responding...
I'll direct him to your post. I think he could also use the samplerInfo node to get some fresnel effect.
