View Full Version : edges converted to spline: points not connected?
mark render 01-25-2008, 03:56 PM this problem evolved of my prior thread, maybe someone can help.
when you have a coverted polyobject (e.g. sphere), select all edges, convert them to a spline (menu: structure/edit spline), the points arenīt connected to each other. they just have the same position.
itīs getting obvious when you select a point and move it around.
why is this?
any tip would be appreciated.

A spline can't have branches only segments, so if you select all edges of a sphere it simply will not work. On the other hand try to select a loop and you wil see the points connected.

okay i see.
but i seem to get you wrong.

but how can i connect the points that lay at the same position but arenīt on a loop, i.e. on the longitude and the lattitude?

Well as the others say you are trying to do something that is imposible to do in cinema. In max you could create a "mesh" out of splines. This is however impossible in cinema. One point can only be on one spline at a time. So if you draw a cross (X) with two splines, connect them and then try to join the two points in the very middle you will fail to do so.
