View Full Version : Look constraint?
AdamHerbert 01-24-2008, 04:47 PM I'm using a Track To constraint on a camera. The camera is animated along a path and is constrained to a moving satellite. When I change the cameras "To" and "Up" axis to point towards the satellite the camera no longer follows the satellite as it moves.
Is there a hidden look constraint that would make all this easy? Any suggestions? Is this too confusing to understand?

After a ton of Googling I found my own answer. You have to clear the camera's rotation before you set constraints or animate it. Just hit alt+r to clear the rotation. Then use the constraint and mess with the set axis buttons until the camera points at the object. You can also key the influence of the tracking if you want the camera to look away from the object.
It's very easy to do but, not an obvious answer. It's not even in the blender manual...
