Well, I personally feel it lacks substance... The red and blue, My guess is fire and ice dragons lack difinitive shape. The red one has the beginning of a head, but looks more like a blob. The blue one has no real defined shape at all.
Personally, I would do the entire thing on paper, as real dragons first, not fire dragons, or ice dragons, but real dragons. Take them into photoshop and use Bobo's Mini tutorial (http://www.bobotheseal.com/Skinning_mini-tutorial_01.htm) to finisth the dragons, then apply effects like fire and ice afterwards. That should give you some defined shape to it. IMO they should be real dragons, one oozing Icey vapor, the other Flames.
I do like the oversaturated flame though, nice effect. And, um, what is in the upper left???

dragons you say, and I thought the blue one was a fenix bird :) subconsious suggestion pic or what :) like it, but it feels like the end of the corner piece should be more defined, layerd even, now it feel like its unfinished...

Well it wasn't supposed to be fire and ice dragons (i thought it was a wizard, blue, and a raven, red, umm i guess a burning raven) but I like the idea of dragons, i think ill run with it in that direction... oh and I am going to take a break form Photoshop for a while (too much digital spoils the mind) and go back to the old lead and paper routine...
hehe
Anyway I am going to sketch some concepts on paper before I revamp this in digital...
Oh how the original ended up as it did... the best way I can describe how I do these type of things in digital is "order from chaos rendering"tm I draw in a few lines look at it... what is it? draw in more lines towards what i see in it... look at it some more... draw in more. i usually end up with something completely different from what i had expected to draw when i started. oh as to the red and blue it was actually gonna be green and purple originally, but in a fit of hue adjustments... it became as it is now. :) oh well
anyway i expect to be done with at least one of the 2 dragons tomorrow night look for an update then ;) night all

Ah.. that make pefect sense now, very hard to tell what was going on with the image. In my minds eye, these things should be painstakingly obvious. On more then one occasion has the mouse in my Avatar been mistaken for a nut sack..... LOLOLOL

I like the way you did the color and the face. Maybe a bit oversaturated in some parts here and there but keep it up!

much improved, though it doesnt quite fit into the corner of a web page now... ;)
notice that ads solidity to it. much more noticable...
I know you are creating all this by hand, and the more we crit it, the more likely you are apt to get agrivated.... you have a nice color style and sense of how to use photoshop to accomplish stuff. Just a little lack of the physicality of the object you are trying to create. Anatomy is a big issue here...
Might I suggest looking online for source material...

hey, good job. I like your style, what I get from it is nice and solid. it's over saturated in some areas, to me, but it's you who designe dit. perhaps you have a dark moniter though? i used to, and my friends always complained of it being too bright :D But good job. And I know what it's like to get no replies, hehe. Sometimes I delete threads and just keep them to myself if no one is interested. I like the blue dragon by the way, with some more substance and body parts showing through the mist, or something, the color scheme and stuff would be really complete. Cool :D
