View Full Version : Norman Schaar - Modeling Reel
Norman3D 01-24-2008, 02:07 PM Hello! My name is Norman Schaar, I'm 18 years old and I have just finished my latest demo reel. I hope it helps me get some freelance work in order to earn some money and study 3D overseas. Everything was done with Z-Brush and 3dsmax on a Pentium 4 @ 2,4 GHz and 1,5GB of RAM .
Btw, one way or another my demo reel will be on the top row in a few years, I promise. :)

Wow, my age using the programs I'm using and much more skilled, great work.
Where/How did you learn CG?

I went to a academy a few years back, to learn how to use 3dsmax. But I learned 95% by myself with help of tutorials and dvds of course. I'm glad you like it! :)

I went to the university to learn how to use 3ds max as well, but it was for one year and it was 2 hours a week. I suppose you were more serious about it, hehe.

Would you mind sharing the name of DVDs or the tutorial links? I'd greatly appreciate if you could.
Great demo. I don't think you'd have any problems finding a job.

quite good reel
but I'd recommend you do not use black background, it destructs(visual) silhouette of a character

Hey thanks for the comment! And for the suggestion! I'll definitely change the background to a lighter one. Btw, I love your work!

I especially like the Dark Maul Cyborg. I immediately wondered if it was from one of the books. I like seeing diifferent variations of something familiar. Your making faster progress than me (I'm looking at reels for ideas on my own).
