Hey all, well here goes nothing, I'm putting out my foot and entering the challenge.

My Character is General Thaa-Kor. He is a Demon-General from the depths of Hell. I actually need to add a little more detail to his outfit first I believe. I was thinking to split the boots and add some buckles, and various other things to nudge up the quality of the model. Any suggestions would be welcome. But I want to get the modeling out of the way and get to texturing in a couple of days.

This won't be the first time I've started texturing him, but I hope it will be the last. Prior times, didn't meet with the success I wanted. I'm hoping to put Unwrap UVW through it's paces in Max, and get this as seamless as possible.

Good luck to everyone in the challenge, oh and I'd enjoy any feedback anyone has.

Thanks.

NOTE: I had to remove my images from this post because I had them on my own server, but I didn't realize how much traffic these threads would get, and I don't want to exceed my monthly traffic limit on my server. So I'll repost the images in a second direct onto CGTalk.

Ok, here's my images again, re-rendered a little better though I think.

Thanks for taking the time to make a reply Lorenzo. I definitely will be working on detailing the clothing. Any suggestions though?

Ok, here's a sketch of what I'm gonna do for his outfit details. I'm hoping to have the details taken care of by Thursday, and then get back to the texturing.

Comments?

Man time sure can fly huh?! Well I haven't made any updates for a while, but I will in the next hour or two. The model is still being worked on, and I know the contest is almost half over, but I really want to detail my model a little more first. So check back in a little while for mo stuff.

Ok, I know the challenge is nearing the last week. But I think I can still do it. Here's a pic of the progress of the sword, I also have some more to post of the modeling of General Thaa-Kor. Gotta go to work right now though. Should be more updates in maybe 10 hours or so. Hopefully.

Thanks Luigi. I'm not a coffee drinker though, so I'm going to just have to turn up the music really really loud...I wonder if the neighbors will notice? Hey, great work on your texture challenge by the way. Looking forward to seeing more. :applause:

Here's an update showing his belt:

If anybody sees any problems with anything so far, please let me know, I'm open to changing stuff if need be.

Almost completed version of General Thaa-Kor. All I have left to do is model his shoulder armor and on to the texturing. Can I finish? I think I can, I think I can! :)

Any comments though??

Ok, I've got the shoulder armor done I believe. I need your opinion though guys. Does the shoulder armor look believable? Should I have something else holding it on? And how shall I connect the sword to his belt. I was thinking a leather strap maybe. But what do you think?

Thanks.

go go windarr your model is going better and better.

:applause: :applause: :applause:

time to start texturing.

the only thing is that you have build your clothes simetrical but normaly things are asimetrical.

After weld clothes pieces , and boots ,more vertices diferent in the too parts.

is not enough time and make a very good change.

Very good joob.

Thanks for the reply. Ok I'll move onto the texturing now I guess. I'll try to put in some assymetrical details too though.

Ok, well I was starting to think that I wouldn't be able to finish the challenge. But now with the extended deadline, it might be possible. But I still kinda doubt it, with work in the way. I'm still stuck on uvw mapping the character. Hopefully I can start hitting the textures soon though.

Check out this piece of art, how magnificent is that. :applause:

:) Well it was fun, but I didn't have enough time to complete the textures...in fact I'm still working on some of the mapping cooridinates as you can see. But I'll continue my work on this after the challenge, and probably start a thread in the wip section.

Good luck to everyone, hope you all finish.

Oh darn, my stars went bye bye. Oh well. Well as you all know the challenge is over, and my character didn't get finished. So I'm continuing my work on it in the wip thread here:

See ya there.
