View Full Version : Art of Rigging for XSI?
Littleberu 01-23-2008, 05:38 PM Hey guys! I'm interested a lot in rigging in XSi | Softimage, but I'm wondering if there are any ressources out there for me?
I know there is the Art of Rigging books, but I wonder if they could apply to XSI, even though they're made for Maya...
If not, do you guys know any good books (or website) dedicated to rigging in XSI or to general rigging techniques?
Thanks a bunch!

hey Littleberu,
Art of Rigging is great, some are very specific to Maya, but the main ideas can be used in XSI yes. It shouldn't be a problem if you are familiar with both packages. If you are not familiar with Maya, you might need to look into the names they each use (ie "freeze transform" has a different meaning in both).
If you are new to XSI rigging, Digital Tutors have some pretty good stuff to start from scratch.
Good books are Anatomy books :) then keep looking on forums for specific techniques, but if you have the Art of Rigging there is plenty for you to do already.
good luck
